My 8 year old daughter was lucky enough to start basketball 3 years ago with Barry Carrington as her coach. He is amazing with kids! He has taught her well and explains the rules in a way that kids understand without being condescending. My daughter thrives when she is coached by him. He continues to be her mentor. Her skills keep getting better when she is with him on a team or at a camp. We are grateful and so pleased to continue her learning, training and skills with Barry!

Barry Carrington is one of the most exceptional coaches I have encountered in my 20 years working at Parkville recreational center, as a youth basketball commissioner. I've had the opportunity to see him develop professionally over the years. At the age of 18, he was the youngest coach at Parkville rec. to win coach of the year---which he accomplished multiple times! Parents and players gravitate towards him because he has a special ability to teach the art and skill of the game to kids! Barry has a true patience, love and commitment for coaching and training. I am certain that he will continue to mold, and create future basketball players because he is an outstanding and extraordinary coach and trainer.

Our son Joey and his teammates have been playing basketball for Coach Bill Toole and Barry Carrington for the past two seasons. Within this span, our son and the team have grown in many ways. My son’s game improved exponentially with the coaching from both of these fine men, specifically, on offense using crossover techniques, dribbling skills and drills, cutting to and away from the basket, which all contributed to better scoring opportunities. On defense, the coaches developed the team in playing a strong zone defense and improving ways to defend the basketball, which ultimately led to a 2018-2019 Championship in the Glen Arm league. We highly recommend both Coach Bill Toole and Barry Carrington for anything related to basketball. They are great coaches and teachers of the game!
