Individualized Attention and Personalized Strength and Conditioning Workouts

While basketball is undeniably a team sport, training with SplashHoops allows individuals to enhance their basketball skills and confidence at their own pace; equaling faster results.

Your SplashHoops trainer will create a program tailored toward each player by studying and analyzing the player’s athletic conditioning and skill level; that way, each individual workout session is not only geared for skill set but for the player to become a better athlete.

SplashHoops trainers are heavily invested with each of their athletes and want to make sure that each player reaches their full potential.

Return on Investment

After discussing the player’s basketball goals, your SplashHoops trainer will use the initial session to test the player’s skill set, strength levels, and conditioning. After the initial session, your SplashHoops trainer will create an individual workout program based on the information collected and go over that program with the player and player’s parents.

The length of the program will depend on the player's goals and the parent’s budget. Most training sessions are a combination of athletic conditioning and skill training. These sessions will focus on footwork, quickness, agility, ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, positioning, etc.

Improvement of Weaknesses

Your SplashHoops trainer will talk extensively with each athlete about their strengths and weaknesses and how to improve their game. If the player is currently on a basketball team, your SplashHoops trainer will try to attend some of their games or practices, in order to give feedback on the player’s performance. This type of feedback is invaluable because it allows your SplashHoops trainer to see exactly how the player is performing on the court and therefore communicate to the player what they should improve on. This way, the player gets honest feedback and a tailored workout plan for improvement.

Quality and Quantity Repetition

Individualized basketball training with SplashHoops allows for 100% individual participation; making it possible for each player to have high repetition, in a short time frame.  No matter if the player is working on a certain skill such as shooting or doing defensive drills, there will be a strong emphasis on repetition.

SplashHoops trainers focus on fundamentals, footwork, proper form, core balance and other essential basketball techniques; which differentiates quality repetitions, from bad.  Your SplashHoops trainer will always make sure that each drill is executed properly so players get the most out of each workout. 

Basketball Fundamentals

If your player is lacking a basic fundamental basketball skill, your SplashHoops trainer will spend additional time and effort working on it. There is no rush or pressure for the athlete to learn something in a given time, but we do have an expectation that each player will work hard on getting better and to practice the correct way.

Fundamentals are the foundation from which every player will develop their game.

  • Shooting: proper foot alignment, leg bend, hand position, arm angle, follow through, etc.

  • Ball Handling: dribbling with fingertips, keeping head up while dribbling, not dribbling too high.

  • Defense: correct defensive stance, sliding feet without crossing, changing directions when sliding your feet while guarding another player, guarding the pick and roll, guarding a post player, different types of defenses (man to man, zone, half court, full court trap).


Each player's workout program is built for advancement, therefore, the player cannot advance in skill without mastering each of the basic fundamentals. This is how every athlete improves their game.

Prioritization of Life Off the Court

The amount of time spent on training is at the discretion of the player and their parents. SplashHoops trainers support their athletes in enjoying life on and off the court. Our trainers encourage athletes to participate in a variety of school activities and to focus on their education. While we love basketball, we also recognize that it is not the end all be all; there is more to life and we want our athletes to experience it.
